Company

filmschaft maas & füllmich GmbH was founded in 2011 by Torben Maas and Christian Füllmich. In the same year, in co-production with Bayerischer Rundfunk, they produced Martin Nudow’s HFF graduation film DER KLASSENFEIND, a colourful 30-minute East–West comedy, as well as Stanislav Güntner’s debut feature NEMEZ, starring Emilia Schüle and Mark Filatov, in co-production with ZDF Das kleine Fernsehspiel. In 2013, the producers received the VGF Young Producers Award at the Bavarian Film Awards for their first feature film, and the company was supported with a three-year fellowship at the Bavarian Film Centre.

In 2015, they shot Helena Hufnagel’s coming-of-age comedy EINMAL BITTE ALLES, funded by FFF Bayern and starring Luise Heyer. The film premiered in 2017 in competition at the Max Ophüls Preis Film Festival and went on to win numerous international festival awards, including BEST FEATURE at the Bushwick Film Festival in New York. In July 2017, the film was self-distributed in more than 130 cinemas and, with a minimal release budget, reached almost 20,000 admissions. Its TV premiere followed in July 2018 as part of ‘Debüt im Ersten’.

filmschaft maas & füllmich GmbH focuses on developing and producing its own fiction projects, created together with established filmmakers as well as promising emerging talent. The goals of each production are set individually and range from ambitious festival films and audience-friendly feature films to high-end series. The producers place great importance on accompanying every project closely from beginning to end.

Alongside their own productions, Torben Maas and Christian Füllmich have in recent years worked on numerous feature films as executive in charge of production, production manager or production consultant for other production companies and producers. Most recently, among others, for BerghausWöbke Filmproduktion on DA KOMMT NOCH WAS (dir. Mareille Klein) and TIDES (dir. Tim Fehlbaum), for Lailaps Films on ADIÓS BUENOS AIRES (dir. German Kral), and for Pantaleon Films on GENERATION BEZIEHUNGSUNFÄHIG (dir. Helena Hufnagel) and DIE GESCHICHTE DER MENSCHHEIT (LEICHT GEKÜRZT) (dir. Erik Haffner). On the adaptation of Kerstin Gier’s bestseller SILBER UND DAS BUCH DER TRÄUME (dir. Helena Hufnagel), they worked as line producers for Constantin Film AG during the shoot in Dublin and London.
