Synopsis
Isi (Luise Heyer) no longer understands the world. Until recently, life was wild, fun and free of commitment, but suddenly everyone around her is so grown-up and successful. Only Isi seems to be passed over by happiness. With her degree in one hand and a drink in the other, she is stuck somewhere in that strange place between university and real life. Her flatmate and best friend Lotte (Jytte-Merle Böhrnsen) is her only island of refuge in a sea of rampant reason. But suddenly Lotte, too, has a proper job, falls in love with her colleague and prefers vegan wine from a Franconian estate to the cheap stuff from the discount store. And to top it all off, she gets pregnant. Isi’s life, by contrast, is going backwards: she moves back into the run-down flatshare of unsuccessful musician Klausi (Maximilian Schafroth) and headstrong medical student Daniel (Patrick Güldenberg). Now, at the latest, Isi realises that she has to find a way to finally arrive in her own life.

Press quotes
“A defiant Munich film for undecided dreamers around thirty: Helena Hufnagel’s ‘Einmal bitte alles’ looks for answers beyond settling into a middle-class life.” Süddeutsche Zeitung
“Sometimes life goes backwards: the film ‘Einmal bitte alles’ shows how difficult it can be to grow up when you are almost 30. It strikes a gripping balance between resignation and rebellion.” vorwärts
“The audience at the Max Ophüls festival has already cheered this comedy. And rightly so! [...] Finely observed everyday humour and an accomplished direction by Helena Hufnagel (31).” BILD.de
“Between vegan Nazis and stuffy Klausis: Munich’s permanent intern Isi is looking for her place in life and, in an entertaining and sensitive portrait of Generation Y, wants ‘everything at once’.” prisma
“With ‘Einmal bitte alles’, Helena Hufnagel succeeds at something many have attempted: she tells the story of a generation with so many options that it threatens to break under its own expectations. The result is a film full of melancholy, optimism, comedy and love, with a wonderfully authentic ensemble, in which everything is just right – from the timelessly modern soundtrack and the shimmering camera work to the subtly addressed themes. A stroke of luck for cinema!” Deutschlandfunk Kultur
